Every piece of furniture we make has a story. From the first sketch and careful selection of timber to the final coat of stain, each item is shaped by hand in our family workshop. So when it comes to choosing a name, a product number simply would not feel right.
Our furniture is made to become part of family life - a table where birthdays are celebrated, a bench where muddy boots are pulled off, or a unit filled with treasured belongings. We give each design a name that means something to us, inspired by the people, animals and passions at the heart of our own family.
Inspired by Our Family
As a family-run business, the people closest to us influence everything we do. Some of our pieces are named after family members, reflecting their personalities, character or place in our story.
A strong, dependable design might carry the name of someone who has always been there when needed. A more elegant or playful piece may remind us of another relative entirely. These names give our furniture a personal connection and help each design feel like more than an object.

Meet Lottie, Our Fox Red Labrador
Then there is Lottie, our beloved fox red Labrador and an important member of the team - although her contribution mainly involves supervising, welcoming visitors and finding the most comfortable spot in the workshop.
Lottie represents many of the qualities we value: warmth, loyalty and a love of home. She is happiest wherever the family is gathered, which makes her the perfect inspiration for furniture designed to bring people together.
Any piece bearing Lottie’s name has an especially warm place in our collection. Like her, it is intended to be dependable, full of character and very much at home in the heart of family life.
Inspired by the Famous Black and White
Our names also reflect another great family passion: Newcastle United.
The famous black and white runs deep through our family, bringing generations together through unforgettable matches, shared hopes and plenty of lively conversation. It represents loyalty, heritage and belonging - values that also sit at the heart of our business.
Some furniture names include a subtle nod to Newcastle United, its history or the culture surrounding the club. They allow us to celebrate where we come from and the team we love without losing sight of the timeless character of each design.
Furniture With a Story to Tell
Naming our furniture is one of the final and most enjoyable parts of creating it. By that stage, we have spent hours developing the design, working with the timber and refining every detail. The finished piece already has its own character; the name helps us express it.
